How much do you really keep from a Talabat or Careem order? Calculating delivery profit
Many restaurants count delivery sales but not what is left of them. The formula below reveals the real figure. Commission rates are set by each platform in your contract, so we use symbols, not fixed numbers.
The formula
Net profit per order = selling price − platform commission − dish cost (ingredients + packaging) − your share of discounts and promotions. Profit margin = net profit ÷ selling price.
Why you need the dish cost
Without dish cost you cannot tell whether an order is profitable. Linking recipes to items in RAWA calculates each dish's cost automatically and deducts ingredients from inventory with every sale, so you see actual profit even for orders coming from the apps.
